HK
As the part of a large identity redesign process, HK needed a new online brand platform, gathering their main site and subdivisions in a unified design system
HK was founded in 1900 with the purpose of organising commercial and clerical employees in order to improve their salaries and working conditions. Today HK is servicing more than 300.000 members nation wide. The union is divided into different five subdivisions which have their own staff to maintain the divisions pages on the website.
The design system needed to allow some degree of autonomy for the subdivisions, while still maintaining an overall consistent brand feel through out the site. We designed a modular system of reusable “content islands” that would automatically adopt the color of the subdivision it is used in. This gave HK a flexible and agile design platform to implement on the very content heavy site.
