Out of Exile
First hand narratives from the abducted and displaced people of Sudan.
While working at Storyplanet in New York I did the design for this story for the humanitarian organization Voice of Witness. The story is about refugees from Sudan and was based on audio interviews with people who had been forced to leave their family and country behind in the name of the civil wars in Sudan.
The audio interviews are acompanied by sound and music from Sudan as well as Jan Grarups amazing photos of the refugee camps in the region.
Voice of Witness seek to illuminate human rights crises by humanizing the victims. Using oral history as a foundation, the series explores social justice issues through the stories of the men and women who experience them.
